Example of a page with an excerpted list of all its child pages.

These are the options for controlling how child pages are displayed on their parent pages.

Options List

Hide parent box if content is empty
This option will hide the parent page's content area if that page's content is empty.
Typically, when working with child pages, you have a parent page with your main content (e.g. Fruits), and then child pages with perhaps more specific information supporting your main content (e.g. Pears, Apples, etc.). When viewing the "Fruits" page, the content of the "Fruits" page will be displayed, followed by the an excerpted list of all child pages of the "Fruits" page, i.e. "Pears", "Apples", etc.
If you enable this option, and leave the "Fruits" page empty, when viewing the "Fruits" page you will see a page that only contains the excerpted list for "Pears", "Apples", etc. The page will have a category-like heading with "Fruit" as the title.
